Incredible scenes emerge in the ‘Aquaman’ fandom as people look forward to Amber Heard’s return

Now this wasn't on the bingo card.

If you asked 100 DC fans what they were most looking forward to about Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom when the long-awaited sequel finally comes to theaters in December half a decade after its predecessor and two years behind schedule, you’d be very lucky if even one of them said Amber Heard.

After all, even if we ignore the petitions to have her removed as Mera that racked up millions upon millions of signatures, nobody can sit there with a straight face and tell you that her performance in the opening installment wasn’t wooden as hell. Not only that, but she generates precisely zero chemistry with Jason Momoa and doesn’t really contribute much to the plot.

Either way, a bold Redditor has taken a stand and made it clear that they’re excited for Heard’s comeback in The Lost Kingdom, even as rumors continue to fly over whether or not her screen time has been as drastically reduced as internet rumor-mongering would have you believe.

If the sophomore splash in and around Atlantis does feature very little in the way of Mera, then all those conspiracy theorists will have been proven right. That being said, we’re not expecting her to stick around when James Gunn and Peter Safran go full steam ahead on the franchise’s near-total overhaul, but stranger things have happened.

Zack Snyder is a big fan of the actress, though, so maybe she’ll end up swapping the SnyderVerse for whatever comes next for the filmmaker at Netflix if we infer that his DC return is hypothetical in nature only.
