It might be time to start believing ‘The Flash’ really is one of greatest superhero movies ever made

If you hear the same thing over and over, there's at least a hint of truth to it.

Even though The Flash has been beset by troubles on either side of the camera dating right back to its official announcement all the way back in October 2014, there’s always been a quiet level of confidence surrounding the DCU blockbuster.

Once the directorial merry-go-round had settled down and Andy Muschietti finally managed to get the project across the finish line, we’ve been hearing nothing but good things. Even the constant controversies swirling around star Ezra Miller couldn’t cover up the fact that everyone who claimed to have seen The Flash spoke of it only the most glowing of terms.

Test screening reactions have been through the roof as far as we’ve heard, DC higher-ups have internally been deeming it as potentially the company’s finest comic book adaptation since the Christopher Nolan era, and now James Gunn has gone one step further and touted Barry Allen’s long-gestating solo debut as a potential all-timer.

The co-CEO described The Flash as both “f*cking amazing and “one of the best superhero movies I’d ever seen,” and looking at how he hasn’t minced his words when it came to Batgirl or Henry Cavill, we’re inclined to believe him. The first trailer is almost upon us, and that’s when the hype train can officially leave the station.

However, there’s a growing sentiment that the tortured superhero spectacular could live up to its billing as an instant spandex-clad classic, which would be a remarkable twist in the tale.
