The Hunters Become The Hunted In All-New Photo For New Line’s It Reboot

The hunters become the hunted in this latest image for New Line and Andy Muschietti's It reboot. It'll hit theaters on September 8th.
This article is over 7 years old and may contain outdated information

We’ve witnessed nerve-shredding trailers and intense, bite-sized promos, haunting posters and entire galleries dedicated to Pennywise and The Losers Club, but with only two weeks left until the film’s theatrical release, New Line’s marketing blitz for It is beginning to enter the home stretch.

Buoyed by those stellar Twitter reactions – “spectacular” and “terrifying” were just some of the buzzwords used to describe Andy Muschietti’s horror feat – the studio has now peeled back the blood-red curtain on a new image of The Losers Club. Unveiled via Yahoo! Movies, the picture came bearing the caption, “Stephen King’s epic tale of adolescent anxieties and an evil clown is adapted for the big screen by director Andrés Muschietti (Mama). From the looks of its initial trailers, it may be the horror hit of the year.”

And though it’s impossible to know for sure, it looks certain that the Losers are closing in on Pennywise the Clown – or at the very least, one of the creature’s nightmarish forms. We know that Stephen King’s demonic creation is able to shapeshift at a moment’s notice, while Bill Skarsgård has described his trans-dimensional monster as “animalistic and instinctive.” Yikes!

As for the kids, we understand that Stranger Things breakout Finn Wolfhard is front and center as Richie Tozier, who oversees a Losers Club comprised of Bill Denbrough (Jaeden Lieberher), Ben Hanscom (Jeremy Ray Taylor), Stan Uris (Wyatt Oleff), Mike Hanlon (Chosen Jacobs), Eddie Kaspbrak (Jack Dylan Grazer) and Beverly Marsh (Sophia Lillis).

It Part 1 – The Losers Club opens on September 8th. Although the idea of a sequel has been floated (!) before, Andy Muschietti has cautioned that the future of the Losers largely depends on those box office numbers. But if the early forecasts are to be believed, neither New Line nor Muschietti have anything to worry about when it comes to BO receipts.
