J.K. Rowling shows her sympathetic side for once after Harry Potter gets arrested for crack possession

Yer a crackhead, Harry.

“Sympathetic” isn’t a word you’d associate with J.K. Rowling very often, at least in the time period since the Harry Potter creator decided to repeatedly generate backlash and controversy with her stance on the transgender community.

It’s almost impressive the way the author has managed to dismantle her reputation in the eyes of a fandom who used to hold her on the loftiest of pedestals for being the architect behind a literary saga – and ultimately an entertainment juggernaut – that so many people hold so close to their hearts.

However, instead of batting back against her trolls with pithy put-downs and constant reminders that she’s too rich to give a damn about people on Twitter disliking her intensely, Rowling has instead showcased a rare show of compassion. Of course, the sarcasm is still dripping out of every word, but she has at least commiserated with the pressures that come with being dubbed the savior of the entire Wizarding World after Harry Potter ended up being arrested for possession of crack.

Knowing how Rowling used to have a bizarre habit for throwing out nonsensical canonical tidbits that almost always ended up being torn to shreds by the Harry Potter readership, it wouldn’t even be out of the ordinary for the writer to come up with something so far-fetched and incredulous herself.

Harry Potter and the Gilded Crack Pipe might sound like a nightmarish fever dream, but we can only hope she doesn’t end up being hit with a bout of creative inspiration after the namesake for one of the most popular and widely-beloved fictional figures in the entirety of pop culture wound up being caught on the wrong side of the law.
