Jai Courtney Or Boyd Holbrook Will Play Kyle Reese In Terminator: Genesis

And then there were two. The search for an actor to play Kyle Reese in Terminator: Genesis has almost come to an end, as Paramount announced today that it’s between Jai Courtney and Boyd Holbrook. With Emilia Clarke and Jason Clarke (no relation) set to play Sarah and John Connor, respectively, Reese is the last major role left to be filled.

Insiders say that Holbrook is the frontrunner but a decision still has not been made. At this point, it’s simply down to these two actors and the studio is expected to make their choice very shortly.

Both Courtney and Holbrook are on the rise. The former might be a bigger name as of right now (with credits like Jack ReacherA Good Day To Die Hard and Divergent under his belt), but Holbrook is certainly working his way up the Hollywood ladder of fame. He hasn’t done much that I would call notable just yet but he is starting to build a lot of buzz due to upcoming roles in films like David Fincher’s Gone Girl and Gavin O’Connor’s Jane Got A Gun.

Terminator: Genesis will hit theatres on July 1, 2015. We’ll keep you posted when we hear more.

Tell us, who would you like to see play Kyle Reese in the upcoming film?
