The revelation caused the internet to explode and fans have been reeling from the announcement ever since. But, as we’ve got a while to wait until we see the Mighty Thor in action, how could Portman look as the Goddess of Thunder? Well, this epic piece of artwork gives us a very good idea.

Artist Jake Bartok shared his “quick MCU inspired sketch” on Twitter which dresses Jane in Asgardian armor, red cape and her own version of Thor’s helmet under her arm. Bartok’s effort cleverly blends the look of Jane’s Thor from the comics with the costumes of the MCU. The helmet is a match for the one from the source material, too, but the artist decided not to replicate the comics’ sleeveless attire. Instead, he’s given Jane a very Valkyrie-esque get-up, except with Tessa Thompson’s blue cape replaced with a red one that matches the one worn by the God of Thunder.

2015’s The Mighty Thor comic series first established the idea of Jane Foster wielding Mjolnir, but we never thought the storyline would be brought into the MCU as Portman disappeared from the franchise back in 2013’s Thor: The Dark World. In retrospect, the actress’ brief return in Avengers: Endgame – even if that mostly was just old deleted footage – teased that she was coming back to the Marvel universe in a big way.

We’ll become worthy of seeing Thor: Love and Thunder when it releases in theaters on November 9th, 2021. In the meantime, tell us, how excited are you to see Jane Foster as Thor? Have your say in the usual place below.
