Jared Leto’s Joker Comes Under Fire In Hilarious Honest Trailer For Suicide Squad

After the mixed (well, mostly negative) response to Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, DC fans pinned their hopes on Suicide Squad. Sadly, that too failed to deliver, and even the much talked about Extended Cut didn't improve on the messy theatrical version which apparently went through as many as seven different edits. As a result, it should probably come as no surprise to learn that the Screen Junkies team has now taken aim at Suicide Squad in one of their brilliant Honest Trailers.

In the video above, it may be Jared Leto’s take on the Joker which gets the worst of it, as he’s compared to Ace Ventura, James Franco’s character from Spring Breakers and called a, “manorexic juggalo.” Ouch. Most of the other characters don’t fare too well either, though the trailer does at least acknowledge the great work done by Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Jai Courtney.

Suicide Squad was a bona fide box office hit, but there’s been no word on a sequel as of yet. That’s probably because Warner Bros. needs to figure out what to do next with the franchise, and while it would be great to see the likes of Deadshot and Katana back on the big screen sooner rather than later, it wouldn’t be surprising if they’re shelved for the time being so that the studio can focus on their other properties.

As the trailer points out, next up for WB is Wonder Woman, and it’s now that movie which fans are hoping will save the DC Extended Universe following the mess that was Suicide Squad.
