We’ve been hearing rumors about Jason Momoa’s potential involvement in Batman vs. Superman for months now, with many fingers pointing towards Aquaman as a possible role. The actor himself was asked about playing the character during a panel at East European Comic Con this week, and his response may surprise you.

When asked about it, Momoa laughed off the rumors, finding himself to be an odd choice for the blonde-haired hero of the sea.

“I know, Aquaman!  I couldn’t even be more random for Aquaman, you know, with the blonde hair… I don’t even know where that comes from, it’s like me being… uh…Robin or something. Who pulls that out? I see that on the internet and I’m like, Aquaman? A guy like… Lobo I could see.”

Of course, this could easily be a case of misdirection, meant to throw us off the scent of his casting. However, his opinion about the rumor seems genuine, and he obviously isn’t the first actor that comes to mind for the role. He would be a good choice though, and could give character a much needed edge and badass quality that most casual audiences would require in order to accept a big screen take on Aquaman.

Momoa’s idea about Lobo is intriguing though, and I could definitely see that happening. He looks just like him (without the blue skin, of course), and possesses all of the qualities that we usually attribute to the ruthless intergalactic bounty hunter.

Tell us, what do you think of Momoa’s comments? Do you think it’s just misdirection, or is he being sincere about not playing Aquaman? Let us know in the comments below!
