Jimmi Simpson, best known for his quirky character on It’s Sunny in Philadelphia, Pysch, as well as his strong supporting roles in Zodiac, has rounded out the cast of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.
Simpson joins Ben Walker, Dominic Cooper, Anthony Mackie and Mary Elisabeth Winstead. The actor will play as Josh Speed, an assistant to President Lincoln (Walker). The Timur Bekmambetov fictional biopic is based on Seth Grahame-Smith’s book of the same name. Smith also wrote the screenplay.
The plot of the film has Lincoln dedicating his life to hunting down vampires, after one of them killed his mother. At the same time, he still has to perform his duties as President of the United States.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter will be shot in 3D with production set to start in March with Fox releasing it on June 22, 2012.
