Lionsgate has shared a quick new teaser for the upcoming John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, which finds just enough time to deliver one ominous line about the trouble heading our hero’s way.
“John Wick excommunicado in 3, 2, 1…” says a voice that sounds like it might belong to Anjelica Huston, who plays a High Table member known as The Director. With John banished from the Continental, Keanu Reeves’ character is officially at the mercy of the entire international assassin community, though the real event that the new teaser is counting down to is the release of the film’s first full trailer this Thursday.
Evidently, we’re just a couple of days away from getting a proper look at the carnage to come, but in the meantime, the latest video offers a few brief glimpses of some returning players, including Laurence Fishburne as The Bowery King, seen with one of his many white pigeons in hand. Meanwhile, in a shot of John carrying his latest gun, we see Lance Reddick as Charon standing in the background, suggesting that the concierge at New York’s Continental Hotel hotel is still on his side.
On a similar note, Huston’s character could also be one of the few friends John has left in this world, with The Director allegedly playing an important role in his upbringing. Set photos released last month seemed to show John pleading with his old associate, and given her position on the High Table, The Director could prove either a valuable ally or a dangerous adversary. We’ll find out which it is when John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum hits theaters on May 17th, 2019, but first, look out for that trailer when it drops on Thursday.
