‘John Wick’ producer confirms another spinoff will be announced ‘in the next month or two’

More 'John Wick?' Yes please.

No longer a mere action franchise, John Wick is officially a cinematic universe, even if the ending of Chapter 4 has created plenty of questions about where the assassination saga could be heading next.

Depending on how you choose to interpret the final moments of the box office behemoth, Keanu Reeves may not be back for at least a little while, but everyone knows that you never say never when it comes to writing off a money-spinning series that keeps on trending upwards in terms of both critical acclaim and earning power.

Prequel streaming show The Continental will be premiering on Peacock before the end of the year, while Ana de Armas-fronted spinoff Ballerina is eying a spring or summer theatrical debut next year. Beyond that, though, producer Erica Lee has revealed to Collider that yet another John Wick offshoot is going to be announced in the next month or two.

“There is another film that we’re developing that I think we’ll be announcing in the next, say, month or two. Then, I’m hopeful there’s a Ballerina 2, and John Wick 5, and lots of other things. But we’re developing a lot of stuff and having a lot of discussions with a lot of writers and brand management and Wick universe is my utmost priority.”

The burning question is who – or what – the next expansion of John Wick could focus on. Based on Chapter 4, audiences would be more than okay with seeing either Donnie Yen’s Caine or Rina Sawayama’s Akira take center stage in their own martial arts extravaganza. There’s also potential prequels revolving around Scott Adkins’ Killa or Hiroyuki Sanada’s Koji, or it could end up being something else altogether focusing on somebody brand new. Such is the mystery, and excitement, the property generates.
