Now that Marvel has announced Avengers: Age of Ultron, details are starting to come out in regards to what we can expect from the highly anticipated sequel. While we still don’t know a whole lot, as most of the plot is being kept tightly under wraps, we do know that the film will involve a new origin story for Ultron and that Agent Coulson likely won’t appear.

Today, we’re hearing a bit more from the man with the plan himself, Joss Whedon, as he has told fans to expect to see more of Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow as she will be a “huge part” of the film.

In a recent interview, Whedon told Nerd HQ (via MTV) that Black Widow will play a major role in the upcoming movie. Check out his quote below:

“Natasha is a huge part of the sequel because you do want to concentrate on the people who don’t have their own franchises. Although she in Cap 2, [and] she’s great. She was the most fun for me because she’s not a hero, you know, and it’s something that I read—and I feel bad that I can’t remember who wrote the book—but it’s in one of the books explaining, ‘These guys are heroes, you are a spy. It’s a different thing—it’s a different skill set—and you don’t have their moral high ground or any of that good stuff.’ And that just makes her so interesting to me. So yeah, the stuff I’ve got going on with her in the second one is killer.”

I’m a fan of Johansson in general and have enjoyed what she’s done with the character thus far, so I’m definitely happy to hear this. I can only imagine what Whedon has dreamed up for Black Widow in the sequel as it sounds like she’s really going to be featured prominently. I can’t wait to see what he has in store for us.

You can watch the full interview below if you’re interested. Then, head down to the comments and let us know if you’re happy to hear that Black Widow will be playing a bigger part in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
