Judy Greer Set To Return In War For The Planet Of The Apes

With minor roles in Ant-Man and Jurassic World this year, it's fair to say that Judy Greer might just be one of the most under-appreciated actresses in Hollywood right now. Of course, while she was hard to miss in those films, you'd be forgiven for not realizing that she also showed up in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes last year.

With minor roles in Ant-Man and Jurassic World this year, it’s fair to say that Judy Greer might just be one of the most under-appreciated actresses in Hollywood right now. Of course, while she was hard to miss in those films, you’d be forgiven for not realizing that she also showed up in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes last year.

In that movie, Greer played Cornelia, the chimpanzee wife of apes leader Caesar. Through the use of motion capture and special effects, she was obviously unrecognizable, but it sounds like her character will have a much larger role in the follow-up, which has been re-titled War for the Planet of the Apes.

Andy Serkis is of course set to return as Caesar, while it has also been confirmed today that Karin Konoval is going to be back as Maurice, the orangutan with a gentle soul. It was also recently revealed that Woody Harrelson is playing War for the Planet of the Apes‘ main human villain. Matt Reeves, meanwhile, has been confirmed to direct.

Very little is known about what’s to come in War of the Planet of the Apes, though the title obviously points to the apes and humans finally clashing in an all out war. Of course, we’re still a very long way off this world resembling the one from the original Planet of the Apes, so who knows how many more instalments of this franchise will be released before we get there.

Tell us, are you happy to see Greer back for the third entry in this rebooted franchise?
