The very first trailer for Universal’s Jurassic World has stomped its way online this morning. After delivering a brief teaser a few days ago, and some quick snippets of footage, the studio has finally unleashed the full clip in all of its genetically-modified glory and I must say, it looks pretty damn impressive.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve slowly unearthed new story elements from Colin Trevorrow’s upcoming reboot, and it turns out that the film will indeed center around a whole new, man-made breed of dinosaur. Not content with their history-defying marauders, the God-playing geneticists decide to cook up a unique dino by mixing together DNA — which turns out to be, quite literally, a recipe for disaster.

It’s a helluva trailer; mixing together the radically new elements with those classic beats from Spielberg’s seminal 1993 original — one scene of a young child looking up at what we assume to be the genetically-modified dino is a wonderful callback. With John Williams’ rousing and indeed reworked score playing in the background, the footage is brimming with promise and we can’t wait to see the final product when it slithers into theaters next year. (Also, is that Chris Pratt venturing out on the hunt with friendly velociraptors?! His Star Lord aura knows no bounds.)

Starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, BD Wong, Judy Greer, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson, Irrfan Khan, Vincent D’Onofrio, Jake Johnson and Omar Sy, Jurassic World will roar onto theatre screens everywhere on June 12th, 2015. Until then, check out the trailer above, and some previously released stills below, and let us know what you think.
