Truth be told, it’s been a long, meandering journey to release. Back when the crossover project was first conceived, the Powers That Be over at Warner Bros. envisioned Justice League as a two-part epic – not unlike Avengers: Infinity War and its untitled sequel, which is currently shooting scenes in Atlanta – before it was announced that Zack Snyder’s ensemble piece would be consolidated into a single movie.

That was before the director stepped away from the DCEU to tend to a personal tragedy, leaving the door open for two-time Avengers helmer Joss Whedon. It’s a switcheroo that sparked heated debate online, though many of Justice League‘s leading stars – Gal Gadot included – have been quick to stress that Whedon is simply “fine-tuning” JL, rather than completely upending Zack Snyder’s groundwork.

That’s something being reiterated today by Mark Hughes, host of the Superhero News podcast. According to him, these reshoots are absolutely nothing to worry about and they’re unfolding exactly as planned. Meaning all those rumors of the tone being changed and the ending being re-worked are just that – rumors. In short: Snyder fans can rest easy knowing that Justice League will keep his vision in tact and won’t turn out to be a Joss Whedon affair.

“As of right now, despite the fact that there’s been some extended time and it’s like ‘ok, if this is still – why are they still doing shoots on this,’ there’s been a lot of downtime in between shooting because of people’s schedules – they have not been shooting this entire time. The amount of content that has been shot and is being shot is still pretty much what they expected and figured was going to be happening.
