Justice League Star Wants To Play Blade In The MCU

If there's one series that desperately needs a reboot, it would have to be Blade. Not counting the short-lived TV show of the same name, fans haven't seen the titular vampire slayer since he graced the big screen in 2004's Blade: Trinity. That being said, it looks like some execs and Hollywood creatives are fighting to get him back in the limelight. Earlier this year, we caught wind of rumors and insider scoops, including one detailing how Kevin Feige was looking to bring Blade into the MCU with an R-rated film.

We’re still waiting on more concrete information to come to light, but recently, a few outlets reported that the franchise could be making its way to the small screen, with a new series debuting on Hulu. Either way, it looks like fans are anxious to see Eric Brooks back in action, and one DC actor has now expressed his interest in taking on the role.

As detailed by Heroic Hollywood, Justice League star Ray Fisher has thrown his hat into the ring. During an appearance at last weekend’s Celebrity Fan Fest in San Antonio, Texas, the man behind Cyborg said that if he were to take on any role within the MCU, it would be Blade.

For better or worse, it looks like Fisher might actually have the time to throw himself into a Marvel project. For months now, it’s been rumored that the standalone Cyborg film has been delayed (if not outright canceled), and it’s not entirely clear if Ray has even resigned his contract with DC, which apparently expired at the end of May.

Personally, I’d love to see Fisher stretch his acting muscles to take the role of Blade, but what do you think? Would you rather see him stick it out in hopes of another project involving Cyborg, or should he just head over to the greener pastures of Marvel? Let us know in the comments below!
