Kate Mara Reflects On Fantastic Four And Reveals Why She Hasn’t Watched The Movie

Ahead of the release of Fantastic Four, Josh Trank sent out an email to the cast and crew claiming they had made the best comic book movie in years. Ahead of the release of Fantastic Four, Josh Trank sent out an email to the cast and crew claiming they had made the best comic book movie in years. One cast member (most likely Miles Teller, seeing as he and Trank allegedly very nearly came to blows on set) replied with, “I don’t think so,” and the unpredictable director would later go on Twitter to disown the reboot.

One of the many things that Trank and the studio apparently clashed over was the casting of Kate Mara as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, and in a new interview, the actress has confirmed that she’s yet to even watch the full movie.

Claiming she had a “good time” making Fantastic Four, she acknowledged the problems on set by diplomatically stating: “It was a tricky shoot but you know…when you know when you’re shooting it that a film isn’t going to be what you want it to be (sic)? That was not the case at all.”

Asked if she’s seen the reboot, Mara added, “No, but I will eventually,” before revealing that the overwhelmingly negative reviews have made her, “a little bit gun-shy.”

As of right now, the studio still has a Fantastic Four sequel dated for 2017, but like the rest of us, the cast has no idea if it’s actually going to happen.

“That’s the thing that makes me most bummed because we have no idea if we’ll ever make another one,” Mara revealed.

Tell us, do you think we’ll get a follow-up to Trank’s film, or will Fox let the rights revert to Marvel Studios?
