Keanu Reeves is about to get lit. Relit, that is. That’s because he’s returning to the titular role of John Wick in next month’s John Wick: Chapter 2, and to promote its release, the studio has now dropped a smoldering new poster which sees the actor draped in red and looking smoking mad and ready to kill once again.
The eye-catching poster is exactly the kind of excessively flashy display that the unexpected sequel deserves. Striking and stunning in equal parts, this piece of promotional material makes a statement — and it’s a bold one. Here’s hoping we say the same about the movie when it premieres in a few weeks’ time.
Also starring Common, Ian McShane, John Leguizamo, Lance Reddick, Ruby Rose (Orange is the New Black) and Laurence Fishburne, who’s reuniting with his Matrix co-star, John Wick: Chapter 2 finds Reeves’ character ferociously pissed as he travels to Rome to face some of the most lethal killers known to man after he’s burned by an old associate. There’s a contract out on John’s head, but he’s not going to go out with a fight. A bullet-ridden one too, at that. Prepare for some well-choreographed magic.
This new poster comes after the first two action-packed trailers. Based on what we’ve seen from those fast paced promos, John Wick: Chapter 2 is shaping up to be bigger, madder and more badass than even the first film. As such, we’re biting at the bullet to see what comes on February 10.
