Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele have a license to thrill in today’s new poster for wonderfully over-the-top actioner Keanu, where the pair’s gangster pet stealing the show – snapback and all.

With little over a month until its anticipated theatrical release, expect plenty of marketing material to be pumped out from now until April 29, though it’ll struggle to top the adorable kitten calendar from last week.

Directed by Peter Atencio, Keanu picks up with Key’s Clarence recovering from an emotional breakdown, only to find a ray of hope walk into his life in the form of a cute little kitten. But tragedy strikes when his new furry companion is cruelly abducted, spawning an all-hands-on-deck search across town.

Loosely inspired by the Keanu Reeves-fronted actioner John Wick, Key and Peele’s actioner even managed to attract the Hollywood for a small voice role. He’ll feature on a casting bill completed by Tiffany Haddish, Method Man, Jason Mitchell, Luis Guzman, Nia Long, and Will Forte.

Keanu will scurry into theaters nationwide on April 29. Matt Donato was our boots on the ground at SXSW 2016, and you can catch his verdict of Key & Peele’s feline comedy – albeit the work-in-progress version.

Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, a.k.a. the hugely popular comedy duo Key & Peele, star as Clarence and Rell, two cousins who live in the city but are far from streetwise. When Rell’s beloved kitten, Keanu, is catnapped, the hopelessly straight-laced pair must impersonate ruthless killers in order to infiltrate a street gang and retrieve the purloined feline. But the incredibly adorable kitten becomes so coveted that the fight over his custody creates a gang war, forcing our two unwitting heroes to take the law into their own hands.
