Latest Marvel News: ‘The Incredible Hulk’ director overestimates his importance as ‘Love and Thunder’ critics shut down the Taika Cut

It's a day for everyone to agree to disagree.

There’s only one movie in Marvel Cinematic Universe history that can be pinpointed as the launchpad towards The Avengers, and somebody should probably tell The Incredible Hulk‘s Louis Leterrier that it isn’t his.

Elsewhere, the mere mention of a Thor: Love and Thunder extended edition gets shut down by the film’s many vocal opponents, while the elder statesman of bulging biceps has weighed in with his thoughts on Hugh Jackman getting back into superhero shape.

There’s never a dull moment for the MCU, but that’s one of the reasons why we all love it so much.

Fast X director Louis Leterrier raised some eyebrows when he claimed that The Incredible Hulk was responsible for birthing the MCU as we know it, and it’s understandable why there’s been so many fans peering over their newspapers like the Tommy Lee Jones meme ripped from No Country for Old Men.

For one thing, Edward Norton’s sole contribution to the franchise released six weeks after a little film called Iron Man, and it was eight whole years before anyone from the cast even showed face in a Marvel Studios project again. We get where he’s coming from, but let’s not pretend it was some game-changing, must-see epic.

Taika Waititi hates Director’s Cuts. Marvel Cinematic Universe fans – or at least a vocal portion of them – hate Thor: Love and Thunder. Is there a chance the two could ever meet in the middle and offer the best of both worlds? It would appear that the fandom would rather not.

Even broaching the subject of an extended edition for the Odinson’s fourth solo adventure got shot down in a ball of red hot online flames, so it’s beginning to look as though the Love and Thunder critics are entering the stage of simply ignoring it in the hope it goes away.

If you’re an actor trying to get into shape for an upcoming role that requires you to be insanely buff, then seals of approval don’t come much stronger than those given by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Thankfully, the Austrian Oak approved of Hugh Jackman’s recent workout selfie ahead of Deadpool 3, indicating that even the most jacked action hero of them all knows when somebody’s putting in the hard work.

Does Kevin Feige ever lay awake at night dreaming of Inhumans?

Even though it was pulled from the schedule, repurposed into the worst-reviewed project of the Marvel Studios era, and then nodded towards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness for the sake of a gnarly kill, fans still haven’t forgotten about the Inhumans movie.

Does Kevin Feige rue the day it slipped through his fingers, or did he simply take it on the chin and move on with his life? We’ll never know because he doesn’t talk about it, but we’d love to find out.

That’s it for this week’s roundup of all things Marvel, but be sure to check back tomorrow once the pigskin festivities have died down.
