All aboard, for the Power Rangers hype train has officially left the station and is heading straight towards the New York Comic Con with one hell of a package in tow. Tomorrow, during the film’s panel at the convention, Lionsgate is set to unveil the first footage from the reboot and anticipation is at an all-time high.

The studio has continued to tease us with promotional material and official images, and just this morning we saw several new character posters released online. But now, finally – finally – it’s almost time to feast our eyes on the first footage from the film, and we can hardly wait. Thankfully, Lionsgate feels our pain and have given us one last photo to whet our appetites with.

As you can see above, the image features the titular heroes staring at something which looks like it may not be from our world. They seem to be in awe of it, but we have no clue as to what it can be, and given that I’m not too well versed in the lore of the franchise, I wouldn’t even be able to wager a guess.

Still, it’s yet another tantalizing tease of what’s to come tomorrow. Lionsgate has franchise hopes for the Dean Israelite-directed reboot, and they’ve clearly placed a large chunk of cash into making and marketing it, so all eyes are on them as they get set to debut that first bit of footage at NYCC.

Whether or not the reception will be positive is hard to say, but so far, we’re certainly feeling optimistic about the new Power Rangers. No word yet on when exactly the trailer will make its way from Comic Con to the web, but I imagine it won’t be long after the panel ends.

As always, we’ll let you know as soon as it’s available. In the meantime, you can feast your eyes on the character posters below and share your thoughts with us on whether or not you believe that Lionsgate has a hit on their hands here.
