Indie Wire reports that Marc Webb is now attached to The Only Living Boy In New York, a project that has been in the works for some time, but may finally be gaining some real momentum.

It was reported over a year ago that Logan Lerman would star in the film, but since then there hasn’t been much news of substance. What do know is that the film is about a boy who discovers his father is cheating on his mother. Enraged, the boy tracks down the mistress and confronts her, but through an unexpected turn of events, ends up sleeping with the woman himself.

The Amazing Spider-Man director has clearly shown his ability to make a blockbuster action film, but what some fans may like even more than his flair for flashy action sequences is his ability to portray a coming of age story. He did it spectacularly with Peter Parker, and perhaps even better in (500) Days Of Summer.

With all the controversy and confusion as to whether or not Webb will be able to direct The Amazing Spider-Man 2, it is good to hear of him being attached to another interesting project. Anything Webb directs will have my attention, but this film sounds like it could end up being quite good if they are ever able to actually make it happen.

What do you think? Is this film ever going to happen?
