With Suicide Squad about to make its bow in theatres, the cast and crew have been doing the press rounds this week, giving interviews and revealing some fun facts along the way. The latest bit of trivia comes from Margot Robbie, who of course plays Harley Quinn in the David Ayer-directed film.
While making an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the actress spoke a bit about her role in the DC Comics adaptation and specifically, told Jimmy about an underwater scene that she had to film. Though she wouldn’t give us any details about what exactly the scene involved or how it factors into the plot, she did mention that she learned how to hold her breath for up to 5 minutes in preparation for it.
Obviously, this doesn’t reveal any new information about the film itself, but it’s yet another fun tidbit about what went on during production, as we all know that this was far from a regular movie shoot. It seems that all the actors were fully committed to their roles, with Ayer pushing them pretty far, and we can’t wait to see how that translates to the big screen when the film finally arrives next week.
Starring Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje Viola Davis and Ben Affleck (plus another member of the Justice League), Suicide Squad is set to be released on August 5th, 2016.
