Marvel fans receive a vision of an Oscar-nominated actress getting the Paul Bettany treatment in the MCU

Iron Man may be gone but his legacy lives on.

Angela Bassett wasn’t the only Marvel actress nominated for Best Supporting Actress at this year’s Oscars. Alongside the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star, who controversially lost out on the gong to Everything Everywhere All at Once‘s Jamie Lee Curtis, Kerry Condon was likewise nominated for her powerhouse turn in The Banshees of Inisherin. While Condon’s face might not be familiar to MCU viewers, her voice should be, as she’s been part of the franchise for years.

As introduced in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Condon has played F.R.I.D.A.Y., Tony Stark’s second in-suit A.I., ever since J.A.R.V.I.S. graduated to full sentience and became Vision. Given Condon’s newfound career boost, however, Marvel fans are now wondering if F.R.I.D.A.Y. herself could get the Vision treatment and, like Paul Bettany before her, Condon might be employed to portray an evolved form of her character in the flesh.

As imaginative Redditor u/PCofSHIELD pitched to the r/MarvelStudios sub, there’s potentially space for Condon to appear in either Armor Wars, given that the Don Cheadle movie will explore Iron Man’s legacy, or the Vision Quest TV series, which brings back Bettany’s White Vision. Pulling concepts from the comics for inspiration, Condon could play either of Vision’s android love interests, Jocasta or Virginia.

As far as MCU theories go, this is one of the smartest we’ve heard regarding the future of Phases Five and Six as it’s an entirely plausible turn of events on two fronts. For one, what happened to F.R.I.D.A.Y. is something of a dangling plot thread, one that is totally able to be explored in either Armor Wars or Vision Quest. What’s more, it is like Marvel to want to work with an actor who’s just made a major splash, as Condon has done with her Oscars’ nom. To put it plainly, we see the vision.
