It’s been a long time coming – too long, some might say – but it’s finally freakin’ here. Yes, we’re pleased to announce that Marvel has now released the hugely anticipated second (and presumably final) trailer for Joe and Anthony Russo’s Avengers: Infinity War – and it’s every bit as epic as you’d expect it to be.

Full of awesome character moments, zippy one-liners and tantalizing teases of what’s to come, this sensational reel of footage assembles the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe – from Spidey to Doctor Strange to the Dora Milaje of Wakanda – and it all begins with an upside-down shot of New York City that ought to feel pretty familiar to those who bore witness to Killmonger’s revolt in Black Panther.

You’ll also hear a rather ominous voiceover from Gamora (Zoe Saldana), who knows a thing or two about Thanos and his plans for total annihilation. It supposedly has something to do with restoring a sense of balance to the universe, and we understand Joe and Anthony Russo’s super-sized ensemble piece will largely revolve around his quest to acquire all six Infinity Stones. Also, is that a shot of a young Gamora holding hands with Thanos at 1:20? So many questions…

One thing’s for sure: Infinity War is set to serve as the culmination of a decade-long journey, one which began all the way back in 2008 with Jon Favreau’s Iron Man. That film would plant the seeds for what’s now become cinema’s most successful and beloved franchise, spanning 18 movies and counting. Not to mention a $14 billion global box office haul.

Fast forward to the here and now, and with the Russo brothers’ upcoming blockbuster on the horizon, the MCU is about to expand into all-new territory and it’s safe to say that once Avengers: Infinity War and its currently untitled sequel have their time in the sun, the Marvel Cinematic Universe will never be the same again. Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’ll be watching this morning’s trailer on repeat until April 27th.
