Marvel’s What If…? is an upcoming animated series based on the popular comic book line of the same name, and follows different alternate realities in the Marvel mythology. Along with an official logo, it was revealed that Jeffrey Wright would be voicing The Watcher, who will act as the host and/or narrator of the show.

Speaking about the character, here’s what the actor said:

“The Watcher is a non-Earthly being who observes all things. He’s watching over the multiverse and occasionally may nor may not intervene with the doings of earthlings, other than that he’s off doing his own thing. I’m excited to see where we take it, we could take it anywhere.”

They certainly could take it anywhere, based solely on the sheer number of MCU actors past and present who will be returning to voice their characters on the show. In fact, Kevin Feige teased the multiverse aspect of What If…? by saying the following:

“All of those set in stone MCU scenes and experiences you’ve seen before, you will see different versions of them in this.”

He definitely wasn’t kidding, either, because here’s a quick rundown of some of the names that will be lending their voices to What If…?: Michael B. Jordan, Sebastian Stan, Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Hemsworth, Hayley Atwell, Chadwick Boseman, Karen Gillan, Jeremy Renner, Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Natalie Portman, Michael Rooker and even Jeff Goldblum will be reprising their roles when the series lands on Disney Plus in 2021.

Clearly, that’s an incredible roster of talent and this will no doubt be one of the most anticipated shows on the upcoming streaming service, and understandably so.
