The MCU double act, who we last saw together in Thor: Ragnarok, have spent the past little while updating their respective social media accounts with all sorts of zany photos and set videos, but now we finally have the first bit of footage to feast on and it promises a refreshing and fun reboot of the beloved action series. Not to mention that Hemsworth and Thompson appear to have terrific chemistry together as well. Although, anyone who’s seen Ragnarok shouldn’t be surprised by that.

Plot-wise, if the title of the franchise’s first outing since 2012’s Men in Black 3 wasn’t enough of a hint, it looks like we can expect the adventures of Agent H and Agent M to move well beyond the New York location of the previous installments, with the pair’s adventure taking them through parts of London, Morocco, and Italy as they attempt to find a mole in the organization.

Unfortunately, Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones won’t be involved in this soft reboot, but the adventures of Agent J and Agent K are still canon to the franchise. What’s more, Emma Thompson will be back as MIB head Agent O from 2012’s Men in Black 3, and she’ll be joined by a number of other exciting talents as well, including Kumail Nanjiani, Rafe Spall and Rebecca Ferguson.

Men in Black International is expected to light up theaters the world over on June 14th, 2019. One look at the calendar shows us that F. Gary Gray’s franchise revival is sandwiched between Dark Phoenix and the somewhat contentious Child’s Play remake arriving courtesy of MGM, so it’ll be interesting to see how our agents fare against such strong competition.
