Proving Spider-Man: Far From Home wasn’t the only geek-friendly movie on display at CCXP this past weekend, Sony Pictures also rolled out the first reel of footage from Men in Black International, the upcoming sci-fi reboot featuring Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson.
The MCU double act, who last shared the screen for Thor: Ragnarok, have spent the past few weeks updating their respective social media accounts with all sorts of zany photos and set videos, but Saturday marked the big one: the first public showcase of Men in Black International, one which drew praise from Steven Weintraub of Collider.
Alas, Sony is yet to release any such footage online, so for now, we’ll have to make do with a knee-jerk reaction. And while it doesn’t reveal an awful lot, Weintraub does at least confirm that the MIBI teaser trailer opens with a voiceover from the inimitable Liam Neeson.
They just world premiered the first trailer for @MenInBlack International at #ccxp2018. Opens with Liam Neeson narrating what the MIB are about and is loaded with action, aliens, and some great chemistry between Chris Hemsworth and @TessaThompson_x. Thumbs up. pic.twitter.com/ZMCqnxINkx

Frankly, Neeson’s stomach-churning growl could add drama to just about anything, so we’re pleased to report that Men in Black International will take full advantage of the actor’s talents. Not only that, but the trailer itself is seemingly “loaded with action, aliens and some great chemistry” between its two leading stars, Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, who are about to become the agency’s all-new galaxy defenders.
Also starring Kumail Nanjiani, Rafe Spall, Rebecca Ferguson, and Emma Thompson, Men in Black International is expected to light up theaters the world over on June 14th, 2019. One glance at the release schedule tells us that F. Gary Gray’s franchise revival is sandwiched between Dark Phoenix and the somewhat contentious Child’s Play movie coming from MGM, so it’ll be interesting to see how our agents fare against such strong competition.
