Moonrise Kingdom Takes Top Honor At 22nd Gotham Awards

Because we all secretly want to live in a Wes Anderson film, where everyday occurrences include banding about dry remarks and being friends with Bill Murray, Moonrise Kingdom - Anderson's latest and arguably greatest film - took the top honors at the 22nd annual Gotham Awards. No, that doesn't mean that they were hosted by Commissioner Gordon or Bane or whatever other character you think it'd be funny to reference.

Because we all secretly want to live in a Wes Anderson film, where everyday occurrences include banding about dry remarks and being friends with Bill Murray, Moonrise Kingdom – Anderson’s latest and arguably greatest film – took the top honors at the 22nd annual Gotham Awards. No, that doesn’t mean that they were hosted by Commissioner Gordon or Bane or whatever character you think it’d be funny to reference (though that would be amazing, of course).

Yes, Moonrise Kingdom took home the Best Feature Award, beating out Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master, which failed to pick up anything, presumably because everyone is too afraid to speak up for it. Moonrise Kingdom proved to be a massive critical hit earlier this year, with many calling it Wes Anderson’s best film since Rushmore. And Rushmore was fantastic, because of those dry remarks and Bill Murray. See? Full circle. For a full list of winners, check out the list below:
