Admittedly, I’m surprised by the studio’s willingness to place such a character on marquees, but this creative decision is much easier to swallow than, say, the Aunt May spinoff they’d been contemplating a few years back. To their credit, it’s all coming together, unlike the failed Sinister Six team-up flick that also fell through (Sony’s half-baked attempt at forming their own Avengers would be an apt description).

If you’ve been following along with recent news pertaining to Morbius, then you’ve probably had a chance to view some photos emerging from the set. Fortunate for us all, a few more just made their way online. Having first appeared on Alan Wyn’s Instagram account before making their way over to a Twitter fan page, three images and a video showing the anti-hero and his surrounding setting can be viewed below.

If I were to hazard a guess, this is around the point when Jared Leto’s character gains his powers, but we can’t be entirely sure. For those unfamiliar, Dr. Michael Morbius’ comic book counterpart tried to cure himself of a rare blood disease, though that went wrong when he transformed into a vampire. I’m sure everyone knows somebody who can relate.

As always, it’s recommended that you keep watching this space because we have plenty of time to go until opening weekend. In case you hadn’t heard, Morbius is scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 31st, 2020, so remember that date.
