As the cinematic monstrosity that is Avengers: Infinity War continues to dominate headlines left, right and center, Peyton Reed’s sequel has been utterly dwarfed by Avengers 3 and its suitably massive, all-consuming marketing blitz.

But that doesn’t necessarily mean that Ant-Man and the Wasp has been pushed to the wayside, as Marvel has slowly but surely begun to ramp up the promotional campaign, with a brand new trailer making its way onto the web the other week which promised another fun-filled outing featuring Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne, the titular heroes of the upcoming sequel.

Now, to tide us over until the final preview hits – presumably next month – Marvel’s rolled out a new gallery of behind the scenes photos which, among other things, give us our first look at Randall Park’s Jimmy Woo, a “classic espionage character from the pre-Marvel Golden Age of Comics.”

Story-wise, we understand that Ant-Man and the Wasp will actually take place just after the events of Captain America: Civil War – not unlike Black Panther before it – during which time Scott is under house arrest. It’s up to Hope and Hank Pym (a returning Michael Douglas) to get him back on track, then, eventually leading to a deep dive into Marvel’s Quantum Realm, where we expect the titular duo to go sub-atomic in their search for the wayward Wasp. The original Wasp, that is, as played by the legendary Michelle Pfeiffer.

Promising twice the fun and another breathless monologue from Michael Peña’s lovable Luis, Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man and the Wasp is expected to make a beeline for theaters on July 6th, and as soon as we get more from the promotional campaign, we’ll be sure to let you know.
