Today we have a band new poster for one of this year’s most anticipated dramas, Joe Wright‘s adaptation of the Leo Tolstoy’s classic novel Anna Karenina. The film is Wright’s third collaboration with actress Keira Knightly; their first two films, Atonement and Pride and Prejudice, both received critical acclaim and from what we’ve seen so far, Anna Karenina will follow suit.

The first poster and trailer for the film were released late last month; with the film not set for release until the end of the year, we expect that this will be the start of a long marketing campaign for Anna Karenina, which is sure to pick up a couple of award nominations down the line.

For those of you who haven’t read the fantastic novel or seen any of the previous adaptations, the story follows:

Anna Karenina (Keira Knightley), who maintains a passionless marriage to a well-respected aristocrat twenty years her senior, Alexei Karenin (Jude Law), in accordance with Russian social norms of the time. After sparks fly between Anna and an age-appropriate bachelor named Count Vronsky (Aaron Johnson), however, she gives thought to pursuing her own happiness – even at the high cost that would come with such a decision.

The new poster maintains the aesthetics of the trailer and several stills we’ve seen so far; Wright’s lavish period style seems to have evolved, but is still recognizable and distinct.

Make sure you keep an eye out for this one at the Venice and/or Toronto Film Festival in the next couple of months, and don’t be surprised if it makes a big sweep at the Oscars come February.

Check out the poster below, and tell us what you think.

Anna Karenina stars Keira KnightlyJude Law, Aaron Johnson, Kelly Macdonald, Olivia Williams, Ruth Wilson and Holliday Grainger, and will be released on November 9th, 2012.
