Spider-Man Far From Home

New Spider-Man: Far From Home Poster Pays Tribute To Iron Man

The marketing team behind Spider-Man: Far From Home has no problem assuming that you've already seen Avengers: Endgame. And while it's not exactly an unfair assumption to make – the fourth movie of the franchise is now only a few hundred million dollars away from topping Avatar as the highest grossing film of all time worldwide – it's a little strange to see the major details of the pic broadcasted across the waves after only a few weeks.

But this choice does make sense in terms of scheduling. Just as the events of Peter Parker’s latest international adventure take place soon after those of Endgame, the films’ release dates are separated by a little bit more than two months.

If you think that’s not a lot of time for fans to process the dismal conclusion of the Russo Brothers’ epic climax to Phase 3 of the MCU, just imagine how the characters might be feeling. As we learned from the movie’s latest trailer, the loss of his mentor, Tony Stark, is a tough pill for Peter to swallow. And it seems Sony took that storyline to heart when designing its latest poster.

As you can see, the looming figure of the Armored Avenger watches over Peter as he contemplates his future as a superhero without Iron Man, something the movie will heavily be focused on.

What’s interesting about this one-sheet is that it’s essentially a still from the movie. And not only that, but it’s also a moment we’ve already seen in the trailer, giving it more of a fan-art feel than practically any piece of MCU promotional material.

Tell us, though, what are your thoughts on the new poster and how important of a role do you think Tony Stark’ll be playing in the Marvel movies to come? Let us know in the comments below and watch as Spider-Man: Far From Home swings into theaters on July 2nd.
