New Star Wars: The Last Jedi TV Spot Blasts Online

A new TV spot for Rian Johnson's Star Wars: The Last Jedi has blasted online today, teasing the epic and emotional adventure that's in store for us this December. Admittedly, there's nothing in the way of new footage here, as it's more just a condensed version of the original trailer recut into a bite-sized promo, but when it comes to a film like this, we'll take anything we can get - be it new or recycled footage.

UPDATE: It’s being reported that this is a fan-made promo, and not an official release.

ORIGINAL STORY: A new TV spot for Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi has blasted online today, teasing the epic and emotional adventure that’s in store for us this December. Admittedly, there’s nothing in the way of new footage here, as it’s more just a condensed version of the original trailer recut into a bite-sized promo, but when it comes to a film like this, we’ll take anything we can get – be it new or recycled material.

In case you haven’t been keeping up, the next chapter in the sci-fi saga invites fans back to the future, where we return to find Rey, Finn and Poe Dameron (and BB-8!) back in action and leading the Resistance. Following his all too brief cameo at the tail-end of J.J. Abrams’ franchise revival, Mark Hamill’s Jedi Master Luke Skywalker looks set to be a key player in the fight against the First Order and Supreme Leader Snoke, as he attempts to coach Daisy Ridley’s Rey on the finer details of the Force.

Again, there’s nothing that you haven’t already seen in this new TV spot, but it makes for an exciting reminder of what’s headed our way at the end of the year, teasing the darker aspects of the sequel and once again dropping that ominous line that sent the internet into a frenzy last month: It’s time for the Jedi, to end.

On December 15th, Star Wars: The Last Jedi will make a beeline for theaters the world over and uncover the next – and seemingly crucial – chapter in the Skywalker saga. It’ll be followed by the Han Solo anthology film and Episode IX.
