New Suicide Squad Featurette Contains The Much Talked About Flash Cameo

With DC recently following in the footsteps of Marvel by having an onscreen shared universe, various characters being granted cameos in movies not their own will now apparently be the norm at WB. Sometimes this can feel shoehorned and other times it can feel quite organic, while also succeeding in exciting fans. Such was the case with The Flash's guest appearance in Suicide Squad.

With DC recently following in the footsteps of Marvel by having an onscreen shared universe, various characters being granted cameos in movies not their own will now apparently be the norm at WB. Sometimes this can feel shoehorned in and other times it can feel quite organic, while also succeeding in exciting fans. Such was the case with The Flash’s guest appearance in Suicide Squad.

It’s no secret that many of the villains who partook in this team-up film that showcased many subtle levels of morality have had run-ins with Batman in the past. Captain Boomerang, however, can’t really count himself among their number because he is, in fact, a member of The Flash’s fabled Rogues. As such, it made sense the Scarlet Speedster be the one to apprehend him, making for a more seamless cameo than the one seen in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

This newly released video narrated by DC All Access co-host Jason Inman places the spotlight on Jai Courtney’s Captain Boomerang and gives some keen insight into his comic book origins. Seeing as how he’s lesser known to the mainstream, circulating this wasn’t a bad idea at all. Plus, you get to legally watch Ezra Miller’s Flash dispense justice over and over again in advance of the home video release.

Suicide Squad – extended cut and all – arrives on Digital HD on November 15 before making its way to Blu-Ray and DVD on December 13.
