Next Star Wars: The Last Jedi Trailer Reportedly In The Can, But Will It Screen At D23 Or SDCC?

A BBFC listing unearthed by Reddit suggests that the next trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be with us imminently, and all signs currently point to a reveal at Disney’s D23 event on July 14th-July 16th or San Diego Comic-Con, where it could screen opposite the new and likely final trailer for Justice League.

Based on the company’s track record, the Mouse House will likely choose to screen The Last Jedi‘s latest promo during its annual D23 showcase, given Star Wars is expected to have a major presence. The BBFC listing, meanwhile, claims that the second snippet has passed uncut and, despite rumors to the contrary, will stretch for a total of one minute and 31 seconds. That’s a full half-minute shorter than the teaser trailer that debuted at Star Wars Celebration back in April, so perhaps Disney is taking a less-is-more approach when it comes to the marketing of Star Wars: The Last Jedi? Granted, this tidbit is yet to be confirmed, so take these allegations with a grain of salt.

As for what we’ll see in the trailer itself, earlier this month, a leaked description contained a series of unconfirmed tidbits relating to Rey’s ongoing Jedi training, the fate of the Resistance, and Luke’s so-called ‘Meditation Rock.’ Whether they feature in this oncoming promo remains to be seen, but we will, as always, keep you right up to speed as more information comes to light.

All will be revealed when Star Wars: The Last Jedi zooms into theatres on December 15th. It turns out that Rian Johnson’s contribution to the Star Wars franchise spans much further than Episode VIII, too, after we learned just yesterday that the writer-director helped shoot “one little thing” for Colin Trevorrow and the as-yet-untitled Episode IX. Expect that one to launch on May 24th, 2019.
