Peter Parker’s next solo adventure is beginning to coalesce.
Though Avengers: Infinity War didn’t exactly go as expected for the young Web-Head (“Mr. Stark? I don’t feel so good”), Tom Holland’s MCU hero will be back on our screens next year thanks to the back-to-back release of Avengers 4 and Spider-Man: Far From Home.
The latter is the second chapter in Spidey’s newfound trilogy, and it’s one that will ship our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man overseas to mainland Europe, where he presumably encounters Quentin Beck, the Marvel villain better known to you and I as Mysterio.
Jake Gyllenhaal is reportedly on the verge of playing the top-tier Spidey villain, which is exciting in and of itself. And while our coverage of Far From Home has mostly been limited to leaked set photos and rumors – so far, at least – Marvel Studios has officially dropped the sequel’s logo via Facebook.
Feast thy eyes:
First spotted by the good folk at MCU Cosmic, this logo is ostensibly the same as the one ‘leaked’ by Tom Holland last month, but at least now we have a pretty HD version to pore over as Jon Watts and his team continue to whip Far From Home into shape.
It’s one of three MCU films currently scheduled for 2019 – the other two being Captain Marvel and the aforementioned Avengers 4 – and will forever be remembered as the first installment in Marvel’s Phase 4. That means Peter Parker is headed to uncharted territory, and it’ll be fascinating to see how Spider-Man: Far From Home, his second standalone adventure, shapes and molds the next chapter of Marvel’s juggernaut franchise. July 5th, 2019 is the date for your diaries.
