Sony’s Spider-Man is returning once more to Netflix as of April 1. The beloved trilogy which sees Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker face up against classic villains such as the Green Goblin, Doc Oc, and Venom will be available to watch on the streaming giant, news that is bound to make fans happy.
Sam Raimi’s trilogy was available on Netflix up until quite recently and was taken off only last month. It would seem though that the demand to have it back has been strong, (that or a new deal has been worked out) which has led to the films getting reinstated only two months after being taken off.
Despite there having been Spider-Man live-action adaptions made in the past, fans fondly think of these three as having been the original. They follow Peter Parker as he gets bitten by a radioactive spider discovers his new spidey abilities, loses his Uncle Ben, learns a valuable lesson, becomes a hero, and falls in love with Mary-Jane over the course of the three movies. The movies had a phenomenal cast which included Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Willem Defoe, James Franco, and Alfred Molina.
Maguire made a reappearance as the titular character in the commercial hit, Spider-Man: No Way Home, which saw all three Spider-Men, including Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland’s iterations, come together to face some old enemies. So loved was Maguire’s version that audiences erupted into cheers and screams of delight at his return to the role in the MCU film.
From April 1, you can catch Maguire back in his web-slinging heydays in Spider-Man 1, 2, and 3 over on Netflix once more.
