Only Three Animated Films Will Earn Oscar Nominations

So it's official. This year at the Oscars, only three animated films will be lucky enough to earn a nomination. Since only 15 films were submitted, only 3 can earn nominations. Last year 20 were submitted and therefore there were 5 nominations. The list of the 15 films is pretty interesting and I think it's going to be quite tough to choose just 3. That being said I think we all know who the Oscar is going to, I'm looking at you Woody and Buzz.

Check out the full list:

  1. “Alpha and Omega”
  2. “Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore”
  3. “Despicable Me”
  4. “The Dreams of Jinsha”
  5. “How to Train Your Dragon”
  6. “Idiots and Angels”
  7. “The Illusionist”
  8. “Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole”
  9. “Megamind”
  10. “My Dog Tulip”
  11. “Shrek Forever After”
  12. “Summer Wars”
  13. “Tangled”
  14. “Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue”
  15. “Toy Story 3”

I’m betting the three nominations go to Toy Story 3, Despicable Me and How To Train Your Dragon. I’d be very very surprised if any of those three films failed to earn a nomination. Who knows though, the Oscars never fail to surprise.

Which films do you think will earn the nominations?
