Has Penelope Cruz Already Been Cast In Bond 24?

With Bond 24 gearing up to head into production this summer, casting news is starting to heat up. Last week, we heard that Chiwetel Ejiofor might be playing the lead villain and now, we’re learning that Penelope Cruz may have already joined the film in an undisclosed role. It’s important to note that this has not been officially confirmed yet by the studio. Rather, it comes from France’s Premiere magazine, who spotted a listing for the film that included Cruz’s name on the cast list.

Despite the lack of an official confirmation, Cruz’s involvement makes sense. She was rumored for the film last year and her husband, Javier Bardem, played the main baddie in Skyfall.  As for which role she’s in (if she has indeed signed on), last year’s rumor pointed to her being the new Bond girl, which we can definitely see happening. Again though, with no confirmation on Sony’s end we can’t say for sure if that’s the case.

With cameras set to start rolling in just a few months time, expect to hear more casting news on James Bond’s next outing shortly.
