Avengers: Endgame

New Black Widow Set Pics Offer A Much Better Look At Taskmaster

While Marvel won't officially confirm the Black Widow film, photos from the movie's set are shedding a lot of information on the MCU's newest villain

With Phase 3 of the MCU set to conclude next week with the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home, Marvel fans are desperate to know what the future has in store for the franchise. After all, a handful of key players bit the dust at the conclusion of Avengers: Endgame, and as of now, it’s a bit unclear as to what villains will pick up where Thanos left off. There’s always a chance that a Multiverse could pave the way for a whole stable of baddies, but some are already speculating it’s a red herring that will be explained away as a trick concocted by Mysterio.

However, when it comes to the upcoming Black Widow film, we already know who will be facing off against Natasha Romanoff. Earlier this week, a few leaked photos from the movie’s set revealed that Taskmaster would be the main villain. Unfortunately, we don’t know exactly what he looks like – all of the aforementioned images show him in a full suit of armor and a mask – but there’s always a chance he’ll be played by Stranger Things and Hellboy actor David Harbour.

Admittedly, the photos that have been circulating the web are a bit blurry, but new Twitter posts from Geeks WorldWide head news writer Thomas Polito show a much better look at Marvel’s newest baddie.

It’s not entirely clear what’s going on in this particular set of images, but we’re willing to bet it involves a high-speed chase pitting Black Widow against the Taskmaster. If you look closely, there’s another woman traveling in the same vehicle as Nat as well, and some are speculating that it’s none other than Yelena Belova, another spy/assassin from Russia.

It is a bit odd Marvel hasn’t officially confirmed or discussed the Black Widow film in great detail, but we’re hoping that’ll change in the near future. After all, the House of Mouse is set to unveil its Phase 4 plans at the D23 Expo in August, so it looks like we’ll know more about the upcoming movie soon enough.
