The film will likely pass The Dark Knight into 7th place before its box office run is over. Not only is Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides the third $1 billion grosser in Johnny Depp’s career, but it also gives the actor four of the top ten highest grossing films of all time.
It’s notable that Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is the lowest grossing Pirates film in terms of the American office numbers. On Stranger Tides has grossed a relatively modest $232 million in the US as of June 30th, following its May 20th release.
