A Possible New Synopsis For Aquaman Has Surfaced

x

With The Batman currently without a director and Warner Bros. going back to the drawing board for The Flash, Aquaman is currently the only DC Comics adaptation definitely set to be released in 2018. That’s not the best of news for the still very young DCEU, but on the plus side, pretty much everything we’ve heard about the movie sounds fantastic.

Production on Aquaman is expected to begin on Australia’s Gold Coast in the very near future and a casting call has been sent out this week which appears to contain a new synopsis for the movie. Now, these should always be taken with a pinch of salt, but it definitely makes for some interesting reading.

“Aquaman will center on Aquaman as a reluctant ruler of the underwater kingdom of Atlantis who is caught between land dwellers that are always polluting the globe and his own people who are ready to invade the surface.”

That lines up with the comic books and is a storyline which makes sense considering the fact that Ocean Master will have a lead role in Aquaman. He’s spent decades attempting to usurp his brother as he believes that Atlantis should be at war with the surface world and that he’s the true heir to the kingdom’s throne. It’s also possible that Black Manta could fit into that storyline about pollution.

As we mentioned above, however, these casting call synopses aren’t always that reliable, so this should by no means be taken as the movie’s official logline. When production does kick off at some point in the next few months, Warner Bros. will hopefully announce the full cast list and provide a lengthier synopsis so we have a better idea as to what we should expect from Aquaman‘s undersea adventure. When that happens, we’ll be sure to let you know.
