Earlier today, we were treated to the first official image taken from the film, which showed star Taissa Farmiga exploring whatever mystery that scene contained. And now, the latest goodie comes in the form of the first poster promoting the impending theatrical release, the blasphemies of which you can view below.

Maybe it’s just me, but the titular antagonist looks somewhat different from its initial appearance in The Conjuring 2, but again, this is merely a one-sheet. If indeed some alterations were made, though, the character at least remains recognizable, even if the makeup and costuming departments were to put a slightly different spin on things.

For more, be sure to check out the official synopsis below:

When a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania takes her own life, a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate. Together they uncover the order’s unholy secret. Risking not only their lives but their faith and their very souls, they confront a malevolent force in the form of the same demonic nun that first terrorized audiences in The Conjuring 2, as the abbey becomes a horrific battleground between the living and the damned.

Directed by Corin Hardy (The Hallow) from a script by James Wan and Gary Dauberman (Annabelle, Annabelle: Creation), The Nun is slated to arrive in theaters on September 7th. Joining Taissa Farmiga in front of the camera will be Demian Bichir, Bonnie Aarons, Jonas Bloquet, Charlotte Hope and Ingrid Bisu.
