Quentin Tarantino Says He’s Been Talking With Uma Thurman About Kill Bill Vol. 3

Quentin Tarantino may have his hands full with his upcoming release Once Upon a Time In Hollywood, but that doesn't mean the filmmaker isn't still thinking about his beloved revenge story from back in the early 2000s and pondering if he should do a potential threequel. That's right, roughly fifteen years after the sequel hit theaters, Kill Bill Vol. 3 continues to flirt with the limelight, and during an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the esteemed director opened up on the long-rumored continuation.

Does that mean that a third installment is now inching closer to a production start? Not exactly. But when asked about the chance of him returning to the hyper-violent franchise to deliver one more outing in it, Tarantino said that he’s actually been talking with star Uma Thurman about the idea.

“Me and Uma have talked about it recently, frankly, to tell you the truth. I have thought about it a little further. We were talking about it literally last week. If any of my movies were going to spring from my other movies, it would be a third Kill Bill.”

Though it was only going to be a single release at first, the Bride’s brutal story of revenge eventually morphed into two installments, with Kill Bill: Volume 1 and Kill Bill: Volume 2 releasing within the space of nine months. And though the sequel certainly did bring a sense of closure to most of the plot threads from throughout the two films, there’s definitely room to do more with this series.

Over the years, Tarantino’s even dropped hints of where a third movie could go, but for now, Kill Bill Vol. 3 remains on the backburner as the director focuses on how he wants to conclude his career. He’s mentioned several times now that he’s planning to retire after one more film (or maybe two), but perhaps he can be convinced to close out his run with another outing for the Bride?

We’ll keep our fingers crossed for now, but tell us, would you be interested in seeing a threequel? As always, let us know down below.
