With Vin Diesel recently taking to Facebook to promise fans of the Fast and Furious franchise that they’ll soon get news of who will helm what’s expected to be the first instalment in a final trilogy of movies for the franchise, it seems like the actor may have let the cat out of the bag with some very interesting social media posts.
Both on Facebook and Instagram, the Guardians of the Galaxy star posted photos of Rob Cohen, with one of them accompanied by the following:
“The man that introduced me to my producing partner Neal and who cast Jordana as my eternal sister… The one who allowed for such a powerful and blessed love with Michelle… And like a father, had created the brotherhood that would define a millennium. Rob Cohen… I hear you Pablo…”
Now, it could just be that the actor is feeling nostalgic, but he did promise that his next Facebook post would reveal the director of Fast and Furious 8, so there’s every chance that he’s using these photos to tease fans before Universal close the deal with Cohen and make it official.
The director is responsible for bringing the Fast and Furious franchise to life with 2001’s The Fast and the Furious, and with James Wan unwilling to return and Justin Lin busy with Star Trek Beyond, bringing back the man who started it all is a move sure to keep both the cast and franchise fans happy. Cohen is currently attached to helm the Road House remake starring Ronda Rousey, but you have to believe he’d make the time for another Fast and Furious.
