After the debut of the stunning trailer for Jacques Audiard‘s Rust And Bone, the first poster and four new images have been released for the film, ahead of its French release next month.

Rust And Bone is Audiard’s first film since A Phrophet, which was nominated for an Academy Award in 2009. Expectations are high due to the talent involved (Marion Cotillard and Bullhead star Matthias Schoenaerts), as well as the anticipation that has been building up since Audiard dazzled us with A Phrophet.

Based on the book of short stories by Canadian author Craig Davidson, the film follows “the relationship between a homeless man (Schoenaerts) and a trainer of killer whales in a sea park (Cotillard) who loses her legs in a horrific accident.”

The release date for France is set for May 17th, one day after the opening of The Cannes Film Festival, where the film is likely to be in competition.
