Samuel L. Jackson may be packing his eye-patch and favorite black trench for a trip Down Under. According to Gold Coast Bulletin, the Oscar-winner and MCU stalwart has been tipped to appear in Taika Waititi’s hotly-anticipated threequel, Thor: Ragnarok.
While we understand that very little of Waititi’s space-faring adventure will take place on earth, the film is primed to ease into pre-production later this week in Australia, and sources close to Gold Coast Bulletin claim that Jackson has a small role in proceedings.
Setting up shop at Village Roadshow Studios in Queensland, if the reports are true, it’ll mean a quick reunion between Samuel L. Jackson and his Kong: Skull Island co-star Tom Hiddleston, after the pair recently collaborated on Jordan Vogt-Roberts’ creature feature.
Swapping monstrous apes for costumed heroes, though, and it’s too early to tell whether Jackson will appear in Thor: Ragnarok, let alone how Nick Fury will be incorporated into the story. Granted, there’s the possibility that he’ll cross paths with Stellan SkarsgÃ¥rd’s scientist, but we wouldn’t hold our breath until more information comes to light.
Remaining in the rumor camp for now, last week brought forth a speculative nugget that a major character would meet his maker in Ragnarok, a victim of the Goddess of Death, Hela (Cate Blanchett).
Also starring Jaimie Alexander, Hiddleston, Mark Ruffalo’s wayward Hulk and Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder, Thor: Ragnarok will arrive in theaters on November 3, 2017.
