Today, MachineGames have released several new screenshots from their upcoming Wolfenstein game, Wolfenstein: The New Order. Published by Bethesda, the story will take place in an alternate history where the Nazis won World War II (gasp) and have now taken control over the better part of the world.

Once again, you’ll step into the shoes of American secret agent B.J. Blazkowicz who finds himself as the one person that can defeat the Nazis by turning their war machines against them. MachineGames promises us that it will be a “thrilling adventure weaved together into a tightly paced, super-immersive game narrative.” Hopefully they’re correct because they’ve decided to do away with multiplayer in order to make the single player portion better.

The newly released screens look pretty awesome and show off all sorts of things that are worth getting excited about. You can catch a glimpse of those damn Nazis below along with a whole slew of robotic/mech type machines that will no doubt present a challenge for gamers.

“Wolfenstein’s breath-taking set pieces feature intense mountain-top car chases, underwater exploration, player-controlled Nazi war machines, and much more,” according to details Bethesda released today, “all combined to create an exhilarating action-adventure experience.”

So far, I’m really excited for this one. I’m digging the steam punk-ish style that they’re going for and hopefully the developers make good on their promise of the various “super-weapons” that you’ll find in the game, which will help take care of what are being called “high-tech Nazi legions.” Wolfenstein game are always a blast to play and this one looks no different.

Wolfenstein: The New Order will release for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC and next-gen consoles this Fall. Check out the screenshots below and let us know what you think.
