Later this summer, moviegoers will once again be forced to forfeit their clothes, boots and motorcycles, but, on the plus side, they’ll be afforded some 3D glasses in return. Now, the idea of doing a stereoscopic conversion for this film has been kicked around for some time, but given the fact that recent installments in the franchise weren’t received all that well by the public at large, it’s understandable that somebody in Hollywood would come up with a way for this franchise to continue pumping out cash.

So, when the first trailer for the 3D version of T2 dropped a few months back, we were understandably excited. But, when the initial rush of adrenaline wore off, realists such as myself couldn’t help but feel odd at watching a “new” promo for something we’d already seen.

Having been brutally honest right there, I’m willing to say that I’m more pleased with the second attempt that’s been served up. While it also contains footage from the classic film, I feel that including clips of director James Cameron hyping the souped up version is really the way to go. In short, it adds a certain retrospective element and reaffirms what’s so special about these killer robots returning to theatres.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day 3D arrives on August 25. Will you be heading out to catch Arnie on the big screen again in one of his most iconic roles? Let us know in the usual place.
